The Pine Forest of Eraclea Mare

A natural treasure to discover

The lush pine forest with over 3,500 pine trees offers a unique experience: open umbrella-shaped trees providing shade, the enveloping scent of resin, and a silence interrupted only by the song of cicadas.

The creation of the current pine forest is thanks to Marco Aurelio Pasti, a local landowner who planted these trees along the coast after land reclamation works carried out between the 1920s and 1940s.

Today, the pine forest is a dreamlike place, ideal for walks and outdoor activities.

Here’s what makes the pine forest of Eraclea Mare so special:

Enchanting Walks: The paths among the trees lead you into a world of tranquility. Breathe in the fresh air and admire the natural beauty that surrounds you. Regenerating Jogging: If you’re a jogging enthusiast, the pine forest is the perfect place to train. The soft ground and the shade of the trees make the experience even more enjoyable. Bicycle Tours: Rent a bike and immerse yourself in the coastal forest. Explore the trails, discover scenic views, and enjoy a relaxing day in nature. Benefits for Body and Mind: The pine forest not only benefits the body but also the mind with its pine scent and the sound of cicadas.

The Laguna del Mort

A hidden gem between nature and history

The Laguna del Mort, located in Eraclea Mare, presents itself as an authentic hidden gem waiting to be discovered and appreciated. Its fascinating history reveals the origin behind its uniqueness and its name.

What makes the Laguna del Mort so extraordinary:

River Origins: In the past, until 1935, this lagoon constituted the mouth of the Piave River. However, following a flood, the embankment gave way and the river changed course, leaving behind a pool of freshwater. Over time, this pool gradually took on the characteristics of a brackish environment.

The “Dead” Stretch: Deprived of the flow of freshwater, the lagoon became what is referred to as a “dead” stretch of the former mouth. This place became a refuge for numerous bird species, transforming the remnants of a flood into one of the most suggestive places along the Venetian coast.

A Nature Paradise: The Laguna del Mort is an oasis of tranquility and relaxation. Far from the routes of mass tourism, it offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in natural beauty and listen to the singing of birds.

Unusual Exploration: The trails leading to the mouth of the Piave, among pine trees and varied vegetation, offer the opportunity to explore a unique environment. Breathing the brackish air and enjoying the peace of this enchanted corner is an unforgettable experience.
